MEET LOVE GYPSIES

A BAND OF PRO MUSICIANS/SINGERS WHO HAPPEN TO BE LONG-TIME FRIENDS. THEY HAVE JOINED FORCES TO blend THEIR PASSION FOR Classic Pop and R&B music with CREATIVITY, FUN, AND WILD ADVENTURE. That's what gypsies do.

Love Gypsies is a passionate and soulful blend of pro singers, musicians, and long-time friends. Performing original stylings of Classic Pop and R&B hits, from James Taylor to Motown, the audience can’t help but slip into the groove. The group features 3-time Grammy-nominated lead vocalist Carrie McDowell, who started her prodigious musical career at the tender age of 7. She performed on Johnny Carson, opened for Liberace, and was signed to Motown by Berry Gordy. Also featured on lead vocals and guitar is Gene Miller, a veteran in the music industry.  He toured with the likes of Donna Summer, Kenny Loggins, Peter Cetera, Amy Grant and starred in Tony-nominated Broadway musical, "The Civil War."  The Gypsies are undergirded with the great musical direction and keyboard magic of Jeff Lams.  Jeff has played with stars like Donna Summer, Linda Eder, and was musical director on 3 Broadway Musicals. And finally, what group isn’t complete without 2 fun and funky background singers, Susie and Belinda. Susie Miller is an actress by day and a singer by night. She has toured with Donna Summer, USO, sung on National commercials, and is in the hit film “Paper Towns” as well as a recent episode of MacGyver. Belinda Lams  is a Life Coach by day and singer by night. She has sung background for various artists such as Anjani Thomas and Kathy Troccoli, as well as National commercials and even sings Hebrew liturgy and Israeli music at an LA Synagogue.

While the band is amazing on their own, upon request they can round out their sound with a full band of the hottest musicians in the industry.

FUN FACTS: How They Found each other

Love Gypsies was born of serendipity. It all started when Jeff was hired right out of high school to play piano and tour with Carrie when she was a little girl. Quite separately,  Susie was in Carrie’s fan club at that time. Susie would go to Carrie’s shows, not realizing that she was also watching Jeff who would end up becoming a dear friend later in life. Fast forward, Jeff hired Gene and Susie to sing background vocals for Donna Summer. Also quite separately, Belinda worked on the Dolly Parton show where she got to know Gene, and consequently found out he knew Jeff.  Fast forward again, Jeff and Gene (with their families) all moved to New York to work on a Broadway musical together. Then, there were many years apart, everyone doing their own thing.

And now...they have all circled back to find each other again...that's how magic happens!
